School & Sports Volume Photography
Since 2018, we’ve been photographing high volume portraits for various youth and schools in Northern Nevada. Exclusively available to partnered programs, families can also order action photos at a discounted rate.
Please review the information below about what to expect for your photos this school year. To view your photos, click on the link below and enter the access code that was provided.
All orders are manually reviewed, verified and approved before being shipped or emailed (downloads). For digital downloads, a second email will be sent after you place your order. Please do not email us asking for your photos unless you have not received confirmation within 48 hours of placing your order.
How It Works
Photo Day is a collaborative effort between the school and Ranson Photography.
For sports, all players are photographed individually against the environmental background (stadium, gym, etc.) for their portrait package and then together with the team for the traditional team photo. In some cases, teams are photographed against a green screen and the photos are designed with a digital background. As time permits, each player is photographed in multiple poses, and examples are provided on Photo Day.
For school portraits, students are photographed against a screen, which is replaced with a digital background approved by the school.
Picture Day Ordering
Ordering is done online after photos are captured. The gallery will be made available between 2-4 weeks after Photo Day. Families will have a short time period to view their photos and place an order to be shipped directly to them for discounted rate.

Packages, both in digital and print options, and single-print products are available to purchase. Shipping and tax apply to non-digital products. All orders are reviewed and approved, and you will receive another email to download your digital files, if applicable.
The gallery will stay open throughout the season before being archived.
Team photos will include the school or program and year. Memory mates and magnets will include the player’s name, school name and year as entered by the families. Composite photos will include the team and player information. Families are responsible for entering the information properly and paying for any reprints.
There are no group photos and memory mates for school portraits.
Only online orders will be accepted (no cash or checks, please). Packages are available and vary in the number of prints and sizes.
When ordering, please review the following tips:
- When ordering, families must pay attention to all of the prompts, including entering information about their player like the name. You will need to enter both the first and last names unless you want only the first name printed. Ranson Photography will not be able to correct any orders with incorrect information submitted. Families will be responsible for reordering if there are any errors due to incorrect information submitted.
- Internet browser preference and Apple devices: The preferred browser is Chrome. Apple devices can sometimes not work correctly with the ordering because of the popups that come when cropping your photo or adding information, for example. Please use Chrome on your mobile device or order from a desktop.
- For memory mates and team photos, if the team photo was customized and includes text (team nickname, for example), this information may be cropped out. The team information is included in a separate location on the memory mate. We review every order for cropping to ensure the photos are printed correctly.
- Steps to adding the team image to your order: Click the Select button below where the team image is blank. A new window will open. Once that window opens, it will display your current photo. Above that photo you will see a search bar. In the search bar, type either Varsity, JV or Freshman (if there’s a distinction) to isolate the images to your team. You can also scroll down to find the image. Once you have found the image you want click the blue Select button below the image. Once it is selected, it will turn yellow. Look toward the bottom of that window and click the ‘done/save’ button. Then it will take you back to the ordering module for you to confirm the crop and year must be added (2023-2024) unless it appears on the team image.
- For magnets, only portrait photos are recommended because horizontal images, like team photos, may be cut off.
- If ordering from multiple galleries and you want your photos shipped altogether, please email us with the images and product info so we can invoice you separately. The invoice must be paid before photos are ordered and shipped.
After placing your order, we will examine it for any discrepancies and notify you if anything else is needed. If you need to modify your order, please contact us immediately. All sales are final.
Buddy Photos
Buddy/friend poses (sports, only) are photographed if time allows and with the coach’s permission.
Photo Day
During Picture Day, we work with the school staff and/or coaches to keep things moving fast and smooth.
For poses, we do our best to capture smiles and/or serious expressions to best highlight your player’s personality. Please understand that we recognize in some cases we may not get the best smile or the smile you’re used to seeing at home. But with keeping Photo Day light and energic, we try hard to get you that picture-perfect smile. Of course, there are some cases when students/players prefer to be serious.
Depending on the schedule, there may be a make-up day, which is made available if a select number of the students or players is missing. If available, you may have the photo taken during a different timeslot from scheduled session at the school, but this needs to be communicated in advance.
Photo Delivery Day
